In remarks published by Iranian daily Kihan, Daifullah Shamai said that the Yemenis are countering the Saudi invasion and the Takfiri militants, as he warned against Riyadh’s plot in the southern city of Aden.
Saudi portraying the fight against Takfiri militias as a fight against the southerners, Shami warned stressing that such plot would not work.
The Yemeni army, backed by the Popular Committees has been, since the start of the Saudi aggression in March, engaged in fierce battles with Takfiris and militiamen of fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
Shami said that Saudi seeks to bolster the Takfiri operators in the Yemeni south. However, when the Takfiris were pushed back by the army and the committees, Riyadh directly interfered through airdropping arms and supplies to the insurgents in Aden.
In this context, the Ansarullah official said that Riyadh took advantage from the truce to provide the Takfiris and pro-Hadi militiamen with supplies.
Meanwhile, Shami stressed that the Saudi-led aggression won’t achieve its goals in the country’s south, thanks to the army and the committees who are countering the attack and fighting the insurgents in the same time.
Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.
Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
However, Yemeni army, backed by popular committees and tribal fighter has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country, especially the country’s south, from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
