Grand Sheikh of Egypt’s Al-Azhar University Ahmed al-Tayeb met with Iranian and Hezbollah delegations on Tuesday

Grand Sheikh of Egypt's Al-Azhar University Ahmed al-Tayeb met with Iranian and Hezbollah delegations on Tuesday.

At the meeting, Tayeb said al-Azhar (University) is deeply watching requests seeking to sow discord in Islamic Ummah and called for safeguarding the interests of the Ummah irrespective of religious differences.

He expressed hope Iran-Arab countries relations would continue good neighboring and friendly relations. He also called for peaceful coexistence among all Muslim sects, and respect for the Prophet Mohamed's family and companions.

The Iranian delegation visited Egypt's Al-Azhar University yesterday to deliver Tayeb an invitation from Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to visit Tehran.
