In Lebanon, a meeting can be called “Christian Meeting”, but exclude the vast majority of the Christians and get the patronage of the Maronite Patriarch…
Nothing is strange. March 14 Christian leaders gathered themselves on Thursday and met in Bkirki under the patronage of Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir who didn’t seem concerned with the absence of a vast majority of Christians, represented by the Free Patriotic Movement and the Marada Movement.
The meeting declared Lebanon is in "grave danger" and called on the International Community to implement its commitments toward it.
A statement read by Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel said: "Lebanon as an entity and a democratic system is in grave danger – a danger on all Lebanese, Christians and Muslims."
"We call on all Lebanese who have faith in their country to get up and defend Lebanon," the statement urged.
