The Zionist army staged on Thursday a wide-scale maneuver in occupied Shebaa Farms, using machine guns and heavy artillery, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

NNA’s correspondent said in a dispatch from the Arqoub region in south Lebanon that the maneuvers, which kicked off at 6 a.m., were taking place at the northern edge of the occupied farms.

The report said at least 50 155-mm caliber artillery shells were fired during the drill as a drone hovered over Shebaa Farms and the heights of Mount Hermon.

Weeks ago, the Israeli occupation Forces (IOF) staged a ‘large-scale’ drill to prepare for a potential ground operation into Syria in the event of an attack by Syria-based militants or by Hezbollah fighters.

Israeli channel 10 reported that the drill included preparation for a scenario in which Takfiri militants launch a sophisticated, multi-pronged attack on Israeli troops, similar to attacks against Egyptian security forces in Sinai in recent months.
