Terrorist Ahmad al-Assir will face trial next month after a military judge postponed Tuesday's hearing at the defense lawyers’ request.
The Beirut Military Court postponed the trial until Oct. 20 to provide Assir’s lawyers – Abdel-Badih Akoum, Antoine Nehmeh and Mohammad Tablouh – time to examine the case more thoroughly.
The lawyers also requested Assir be seen by a medical team.
Assir was arrested in mid-August by General Security at Beirut airport while trying to flee to Nigeria via Cairo using a fake Palestinian passport and changing his look after more than two years on the run.
