"We Want Accountability" campaign activists staged on Tuesday morning a sit-in before the Finance Ministry building to call for stopping the transfer of the salaries of Deputies, NNA field reporter said.

The activists said that the people are paying taxes but the officials are spending the money on a parliament that is not functioning.

The protesters threw waste in front of the ministry to protest the lack of solutions to the waste crisis.

Police immediately deployed in the area to stop the protesters from entering the building similar to when demonstrators stormed the environment ministry earlier this month to demand the minister's resignation. Beirut police chief Brig. Bassam al-Ayyoubi also arrive to the scene of the protest and accused the activists of trying to storm the ministry but said security forces stopped them from entering the building.
