More than 38 terrorists of the so-called ’Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant’ (ISIL) takfiri group were killed on Monday during raids launched by the Syrian Air Force against militants’ positions in central Syria.

The opposition UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that the Syrian warplanes launched "exact strikes at ISIL positions in Palmyra, Al-Sakhna in the province of Homs.

Syria was hit by a violent unrest in mid-March 2011 orchestrated by major regional countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, and directly trained by the US.

The Syrian army launched in May 2013 a wide military offensive against terrorist groups to drive them out of the country.
