A tent housing a number of Egyptian pilgrims in Mina, near Saudi Arabia’s Mecca, caught fire just one day after a deadly stampede left hundreds of pilgrims dead.

fireAccording to the Egyotian Alyoum Alsabea website (youm7.com), fire engines arrived at the site and extinguished the flames. Saudi media, the report said, have not released potential casualty figures.

"The accident wounded several pilgrims, and sparked a state of fear as well as their loss of consciousness," sources said.

The Egyptian tents are located just next to the area where Lebanese pilgrims set up their tents.

The fire occurred on the same street where more than 700 pilgrims died in a stampede in Mina, just outside Mecca, one day earlier in one of the worst incidents to take place in the Hajj time.
