French Foreign Ministry says FM Bernard Kouchner will repeat France’s commitment towards Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty during Beirut’s visit.
The French Foreign Ministry announced on Friday that French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner will visit Lebanon on November 5 and 6 where he will meet with President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Saad Hariri as well as Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Sfeir and other representatives of Lebanese parties.
It said in a statement that the visit is "an occasion to remind the Lebanese authorities of France's support to the national unity government headed by Hariri."
"He is expected to repeat France's commitment towards Lebanon's stability and sovereignty and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, as well as the implementation of resolution 1701 and," it continued.
Kouchner is scheduled to hold a press conference on Saturday at the end of his visit.
