Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon voiced his country’s readiness to cooperate with Lebanon to extract oil from off-shore reserves
Iranian Ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Roken Abadi on Tuesday voiced his country’s readiness to cooperate with Lebanon to extract oil from off-shore reserves.
Following his meeting with Energy Minister Gebran Bassil, Abadi said the sit-down was “an occasion to address the agreements signed by Lebanon and Iran’s energy ministries,” the National News Agency reported.
He also said that his government “wants nothing but the wellbeing of Lebanon and its people.”
The Lebanese Parliament in August 2010 passed an oil exploration bill, which calls for the establishment of a committee to oversee exploration and drilling off Lebanon’s coast.
