At least 10 people have been killed and 16 others injured after separate attacks hit several Iraqi cities on Wednesday evening, security officials said.
According to a police officer, an explosion wounded five people in the south of Ramadi, 100 km (60 miles) west of Baghdad. He added that a second bomb blast occurred as people gathered to help the wounded and the two incidents killed seven and injured 13 people, AFP reported.
In the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, gunmen attacked a checkpoint on Wednesday, shooting two soldiers dead, according to a military officer.
One Iraqi policeman was killed and three Iraqi translators wounded in a bomb attack on the al-Rusafa prison complex in Baghdad, an interior ministry official said.
