Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian stressed that his country is engaged in the Syrian war under the request of Damascus.

But he stressed that this military presence is limited to military advice.

“There are no Iranian fighters in Syria, but military advisers who offer military advice to the Syrian soldiers,” the Iranian diplomat told Britain’s Fourth channel.

Meanwhile, Abdollahian said that the joint measures between Russia and Iran in Syria are not tactical, but they are for the sake of the region and the world.
