The White House announced that the US President Barack Obama will travel to Turkey to participate in a summit of G-20 leaders on Nov 15.
Obama "will spur international efforts to ensure strong, sustainable, and balanced global economic growth" while in Turkey, according to a White House statement.
However, it remained unclear whether he will hold bilateral meetings with Turkish leaders.
The US president will then head to the Philippines and Malaysia where he will participate in regional summit meetings in both countries.
The visit to southeast Asia is to contribute to the US’s strategy to rebalance the Asia-Pacific region in political, economic, security, and people-to-people engagement dimension.
It will also "underscore America’s support for Asia’s regional institutions, which enhance security and prosperity," the White House said.
