He bid farewell to Imam Ali Al-Rida’s Shrine in Iran... to meet with the Imam himself in the heavens.
Martyr Sayyed Houssam Abdul Hadi Al-Moussawi
Sayyed Houssam Al-Moussawi was born on the 12th of July, 1979, in Nabi Shieth in Bekaa. According to his family, his birth was blessed, for as soon as he was born their financial situation flourished.
He lived a delightful childhood in a faithful family that was completely committed to Islam.
After high school, Houssam joined the Lebanese University where he majored in Philosophy and History. He graduated in 2001.
Since young age, Houssam was committed to praying, fasting, reciting the Quran as well as the daily supplications, and was persistent in performing the Night Prayer (Salat-u-Lail) until the day of his martyrdom.
He was passionate about the prophet’s household, and had special affection to Sayyeda Al-Zahraa and the seventh Imam Ali Al-Rida (as), whom he asked his wife to name his coming baby after him.
His relation with his family and wife was based on friendship, mutual respect, passion, and love.
His father was quoted as saying during Houssam’s funeral: “I cry over you Houssam because of my great passion to you, I miss you my son, and I crave for you and for seeing you, you’ve been kind in your life as well as in your martyrdom, may Allah be pleased with you.”
Martyr Houssam was known of his humbleness, good company, asceticism, contentment, honesty, loyalty, flexibility, calmness, punctuality, generosity, high self-confidence, and strict commitment to implementing his religious duties.
He was further known for his secrecy, specifically in matters related to his Jihad work which he was passionate about as much as he was passionate to South Lebanon.
When his family used to ask him to change his work spot from the South to Bekaa to stay close to them, he used to respond: “A high price was paid for the land of the South, and no matter how much we talk about it, we cannot give it the right it deserves.”
During his university years, Houssam was very much interested in joining the Jihad path. He joined Hezbollah’s Educational Mobilization Unit in 1993, and being influenced by Sayyed Abbas Al-Moussawi’s martyrdom, he was later transferred to the military mobilization.
He engaged wholly in the jihad work in 1997, after having gone through various educational and military courses. He took part in various confrontations with the Zionist enemy.
In the Battlefield:
When the Zionist outrageous war against Lebanon broke out in July 2006, Houssam was on a visit to the Holy Shrine of Imam Ali Al-Rida (as) in the Islamic Republic of Iran. As soon as he knew about the capturing operation, he came back to Lebanon, to stay ready on the front.
Returning from Iran, he went back instantly to the South, without passing by his family. Instead, he called them from the South to tell them about his arrival.
While firing rockets, Houssam was detected by an Israeli reconnaissance plane, which traced him and targeted him with a missile that killed him instantly.
Martyr Houssam’s body remained in the battlefield for 18 days.
After the war was over, his body was transferred to his village, and was buried on the 19th of August, 2006.
