In an interview with Al-Manar Website, Political analyst Ghaleb Qandil recalled how Turkey dealt with its rebels, and noted Saudi’s involvement in Syria’s developments since they erupted.
Ghaleb Qandil to Al-Manar Website:
Any Adventure against Syria Will Be Confronted by Fierce Popular Resistance;
Saudi King Has No Democratic Qualification;
Turkish Leadership Knows How It Dealt with Kurds;
Bandar Groups in Lebanon Involved in Syria;
Whoever Resorts to Violence Doesn’t Seek Partnership;
Let those Concerned of Syria Stop Inciting Rebels
Political analyst Ghaleb Qandil said that foreign pressure against Syria reflects the failure of all attempts to plunge Syria into chaos, and said the Syrian people have revealed their rejection to sedition, sabotage and have uncovered the atrocities committed by the so-called opposition’s militias in the regions they have controlled.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Qandil warned that any adventure against Syria would be confronted by fierce popular resistance. He said that the Syrian leadership was committed to reforms, and noted that the demonstrators do not seek reform as they claim but want to get rid of the Resistance’s power, represented by Syria.
While criticizing the latest Turkish stance towards the Syrian developments and recalling that the Turkish leadership knows how it dealt with the Kurdish rebels, he said that those committed to Syria’s stability should halt their intelligence’s interference in Syria and stop the famous lie of ‘peaceful’ demos.
Qandil, who confirmed that the Saudi involvement in Syria’s developments was not new, said that Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz does not enjoy enough democratic and reformist qualifications to give advices to others. He said the Saudi King should have thought about ways to introduce reform in his own kingdom before advising others.
Qandil said that preliminary information suggests there is huge progress on ground, in relation to the military operations carried out by the Syrian army. He revealed that the army was taking its time for safety reasons.
SYRIAN PEOPLE UNCOVERED MILITIAS
Political analyst and intellectual Ghaleb Qandil told Al-Manar Website that foreign pressures against Syria reflect the deadlock reached by the so-called opposition in the internal scene, as well as the collapse of all attempts to plunge Syria into chaos. He remarked that the United States, Turkey and other NATO countries were disappointed by the performance of the Syrian opposition during the holy month of Ramadan. He said the disappointment was doubled when the Syrian army showed a high level of cohesion and commitment to President Bashar Assad as well as national principles and values.
According to Qandil, the Syrian nation has expressed throughout the last few weeks its rejection to sedition and chaos. He said that the Syrian people have uncovered the plots of the opposition militias and their terrorist operations. He noted that what happened in Hamah, Deir Az-Zour, Banias, Daraa, Jisr As-Shoughour and other sites was a clear representation of this reality.
WE ENTERED FATEFUL STAGE OF CONFRONTATION
Qandil pointed to the tense rhetoric adopted by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other Western countries, at the top of which comes the United States of America. He said these states were afraid of losing everything, given that what’s taking place in Syria is a series of military operations carried out by armed gangs embraced by the Turkish intelligence.
He said that pressures reflect international disappointment of the course of developments. He stressed that the popular majority in Syria was still at the side of President Bashar Al-Assad, and said this majority was increasing, contrary to all rumors. He also noted that reforms were ongoing and that the Syrian leadership was committed to proceed this way until the end. He highlighted that demonstrators do not seek reform as they’re claiming, but want to get rid of the resistance’s power, represented by Syria.
Qandil spoke in this context of a real conspiracy lead by the “non-sacred” alliance, which includes Qatar and Turkey as well as other states. He expressed belief that the region has entered the fateful stage of confrontation against the conspiracy targeting Syria. He warned that any adventure against Syria would be confronted by a fierce and popular resistance.
WHOEVER RESORTS TO VIOLENCE DOESN’T SEEK PARTNERSHIP
Answering a question about the stance made by Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan who declared that his Foreign Minister would visit Damascus on Saturday with ‘firm’ messages, Qandil said the best answer was carried by Syrian presidential advisor Buthaina Shaaban when she launched a simple balance, noting that if the Turkish FM would visit Damasus with ‘firm’ messages, then he would have to hear ‘firmer’ stances.
Qandil said that Syria will not accept any interference in its internal affairs, and said that if any patriotic state would face such a situation, it would act just like Syria did. He recalled that the Turkish leadership knew well how it dealt with the Kurdish rebels, and pointed to the American administration’s daily theories about fighting terrorism.
He said those committed to Syria’s stability must put an end to their intelligence’s interference in embracing the rebels and stop lying about the ‘peaceful’ demonstrations. He expressed belief that the battle with those implementing the American orders cannot be a battle of logic, but rather a ground one.
Qandil said the Turks seek to be internal players in Syria through imposing the ‘Muslim Brotherhood’ as partners. Yet, he asserted that this wish would not come true. “Those who resort to violence and reject dialogue and reforms do not seek partnership,” he said.
AMERICAN ORDER RELEASED
Turning to the Saudi stance expressed by Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, political analyst Ghaleb Qandil said that the Saudi involvement in Syria’s developments was not new, and that it began at the moment the crisis in Syria erupted. He pointed in this context to Bandar bin Sultan’s groups within the Future party and the March 14 forces in Lebanon as well as in Jordan and Iraq. He said these groups contributed in smuggling arms and money. He also pointed to the role played by media panels, believed to have links with the Saudi monarchy. He said that As-Sharq al-Awsat and Al-Hayat newspapers as well as Al-Arabiya television tuned to be tools to incite the Syrian people against each other. While noting that some have said that Saudi King was not aware of these details at the beginning, he said that the American order has been issued.
He stressed that Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz does not enjoy enough democratic and reformist qualifications to give advices to others. He said the Saudi King should have thought about ways to introduce reform in his own kingdom before advising others.
He wondered about the ‘wisdom’ of destroying the only remaining anti-Israel state in the Arab world. He said that the Saudi king knows this, and this is the problem.
