Syrian Infantry Units managed on Monday to establish control over two new villages in the northern countryside of Latakia province, Ako and Booz al-Kherba, following their control over the surrounding ruling hills, a special source from the battlefield told Al-Manar Website.
The source highlighted that the joint coordination between Syrian and Russian air forces paved the way for the Infantry units and the Popular Defense forces to advance towards the two villages in spite of the harsh terrain.
Moreover, the source explained how hard the battles were, speaking of a close engagement that took place between the Syrian army and the takfiri groups in the area.
The military spokesman indicated that the Syrian national military also seized control over a large number of the ruling hills in Jeb al-Ahmar that oversee Al-Ghab Valley.
The Syrian advancement - supported by the air force coverage - keeps no room for the takfiris other than fleeing towards Turkey or dying in the battlefields, the source added.
The national army continues combat tasks in Latakia, including installing and fortifying positions to be able to monitor the militants' movements and to target them.
