A suicide bomber detonated explosives near a mosque in eastern Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Wednesday, killing at least eight people, security and medical officials said.
The blast in the Obeidi area also wounded at least 19 people, the officials added.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but Iraq suicide bombings are a tactic almost exclusively labeled by the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group.
