Hezbollah Urges Media Not to Drag Its Name in Security Incidents

Hezbollah says dragging party’s name in any security development aimed at tarnishing its image and calls on media outlets to adopt objectivity in coverage

Hezbollah urged on Friday all media outlets not to drag its name in any security incident as they did with the latest blast that erupted in Antelias area, north in Beirut.

In a statement it released, Hezbollah media relations said that dragging the party’s name in any security development comes in the framework of a systematic accusatory plot that changes facts and is aimed at tarnishing Hezbollah image in front of its Lebanese and Arab supporters.

Hezbollah called on media outlets to adopt objectivity in their coverage to avert the alteration of facts. “Exaggeration and alteration of facts hurts these outlets’ credibility and contributes in the strained atmosphere which does not serve the country and its people,” the statement read out.

Hezbollah also urged official concerned sides to assume their responsibilities in putting standards and guaranteeing the media outlets suspend their misleading approach.
