Obama Urges Yemen Ceasefire to be Respected

US President Barack Obama called on Yemen’s warring parties to respect a ceasefire that was violated by the Saudi-US aggression forces few hours after it took effect, amid massive coalition airstrikes on Yemeni infrastructure.

The White House said that Obama, in a call with Abu Dhabi's crown prince, stressed the "urgent need for all parties to adhere to the ceasefire in Yemen" and to seek a diplomatic solution to the conflict.

Saudi Arabia has been striking Yemen for 268 days now to restore power to fugitive President Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The Saudi-US aggression has so far killed at least 6,594 Yemenis, including hundreds of women and children.

Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Yemeni national military, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures.
