Taha Al-Qatnani assured that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah has kept the promise he had given to the family and mentioned Ashraqat in his first speech after her martyrdom.
Taha Al-Qatnani, father of the martyred Palestinian girl Ashraqat Al-Qatnani assured that Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah has kept the promise he had given to the family and mentioned Ashraqat in his first speech after her martyrdom.
Qatnani told Al-Watan news agency: "His eminence has kept his promise in the best way after he has mentioned my daughter Ashraqat along with the great national figure martyr Samir Kuntar who's love and identity were Palestine."
He addressed Sayyed Nasrallah saying: "You are the base of faithfulness, you promised and kept it for you are the master of the truthful pledge".
Speaking to Al-Manar TV channel, Qatnani pointed out that Sayyed Nasrallah had made a phone call to the family one week after Ashraqat's martyrdom and congratulated it, while the martyr's father asked Sayyed Nasrallah to mention his daughter in his coming speech.
Sayyed Nasrallah referred in his speech Monday to the martyred 16-year-old Palestinian girl Ashraqat Al-Qatnani who was killed by Israeli occupation soldiers after performing a stabbing operation.
"This young lady with so much awareness, firm determination, and deep and honest recognition of the cause which she sacrificed herself for and set it as a priority differentiating between the enemy and the friend," he said.
He further considered that the "the blood of Samir and his martyrdom will add to the love, determination, and awareness of the Palestinian youth who are facing death through the operations they are performing," indicating that Ashraqat is a sample of the Palestine youth who love freedom.
Taha Al-Qatnani had mentioned previously that he received a phone call from Lebanon one week after his daughter's martyrdom, and after he answered, the response came "wait a minute" to hear the voice of Sayyed Nasrallah after that.
Qatnani stated that he was certain that it was Sayyed Nasrallah because it was his voice and the same words and terms that he uses in his speeches.
Moreover, he added that Hezbollah secretary general had told him that "I only use the phone for security necessitates, but this time I felt that I had a duty toward martyr Ashraqat and her family."
Sayyed Nasrallah also said that "we consider Ashraqat to be the martyr of the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon and she is similar to my son Hadi... Only if we abandon praying and fasting we would abandon Palestine."
