The head of the International affairs committee in the Russian Duma, Alexy Pushkov, harshly attacked the new Saudi coalition to fight ISIL, describing it as a paper alliance.

In a press conference, Pushkov did not rule out the veracity of the reports which pointed out that Lebanon and Pakistan did not know about joining the coalition before its formation, considering that this underlines that the coalition operates only on paper.

Pushkov asserted that the Saudi step will not be successful as KSA contributed to the establishment of ISIL through supporting the armed opposition groups in Syria.
