General Security detained four Lebanese for forming a cell that works for the Takfiri group, ISIL (so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant).
In a communique released by. on Thursday, the Directorate General of G.S said that the four individuals, (A.R.), (M.K.), (Y.B.), and (A.Gh.), were arrested upon a notice from the general prosecution.
After questioning them, the four confessed that they formed a terrorist cell aimed at recruiting individuals and carrying out operations for ISIL, the statement said.
“One of them (A.R.) confessed belonging to Daesh and pledged of allegiance to it through his Lebanese-Australian relative (Y.R.) who is a leader in Daesh in al-Raqqa in Syria and is active in the field of manufacturing explosives and improvised explosives,” the statement added, using the Arabic acronym of ISIL.
The arrestees were referred after the end of the investigation to the concerned authorities, NNA cited the G.S. statement as saying.
