Gunfire exchange at former President Suleiman Franjieh, in the northern city of Ehden, injured three people at dawn Sunday.

The National News Agency reported an exchange of fire took place between the guards of the palace and drunken men.
The two men were speeding near the mansion when one of the guards stopped them asking about their inappropriate behavior, the agency said. One of the drunken men hit the guard while the other shot at him, which forced the guards to open fire at them.

NNA said that two guards – Butros Mikhael Iskandar and Bakhos Ibrahim Jerjes – were injured in the incident that erupted at 5:00 am.
One of the occupants identified as Naim al-Doueihy was also injured, NNA said, adding that the army intervened and cordoned off the area.

For his part, Marada movement leader MP Suleiman Franjieh said that the incident near his grandfather’s palace must not be exaggerated, adding that the relevant judicial and security authorities are investigating the matter.
“The identity of those who opened fire is now known”, the MP added.
