NATO occuption troops are paying high price in the Afghan war.
The death toll of NATO occupation soldiers killed in Afghanistan so far this year hits 624 as a soldier was killed in the war-torn country's east.
NATO's International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said the solider, whose nationality was not revealed "died following an insurgent attack in eastern Afghanistan Saturday".
The total number of foreign soldiers killed in Afghanistan since the 2001 US-led invasion is 2,194. The AFP toll is based on a tally kept by the independent icasualties.org website.
2009 death toll was 521 foreign troops.
NATO and the United States have more than 150,000 troops in the country.
