Iranian President Sheikh Hasan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the implementation of the nuclear deal s just a beginning for the Islamic Republic’s economy.

Iranian President Sheikh Hasan Rouhani said on Tuesday that the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action (JCPOA) is just a beginning for the Islamic Republic’s economy and there is a long way to go forward with economic development.

Speaking during an economic forum, Rouhani said there is a long distance between the post sanction era and emerging as a new economic power but under the guidelines of Leader and people's support, government is committed to reach this goal, IRNA news agency reported.

He also thanked the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, for his support and praised Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi and Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan for paving the way for success of talks.

Rouhani called boost of economy and resolution of economic problems including unemployment according to the Resistance Economy as a national goal.

The Iranian president urged both private and government sectors to absorb 50 billion dollars of foreign investment as a pre-condition to realization of 8 percent economic growth.

On Saturday (Jan 16), Zarif and European Union foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini read out a joint statement in the Austrian capital, Vienna, announcing that the JCPOA had come into force.

According to the statement, all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran by the European Union, the UN Security Council and the US are lifted.

The announcement was made hours after the IAEA chief confirmed in a report that Iran has remained committed to the nuclear agreement with the world powers.
