Tunnels linking the Gaza Strip to the Zionist settlements constitute a nightmare for the occupation authorities and settlers, especially amid the increasing Zionist media reports about digging more tunnels by Palestinians.
Such development cause wide concerns among settlers who asked authorities to detect and destroy the tunnels. before being used by the Palestinians during future possible confrontations.
Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated his warnings against Palestinians in the Strip, hinting at the possibility of using force against the tunnels' threat.
"During 'Operation Solid Rock', Hamas attacked Israel and realized our force. Hamas became very conscious in confronting Israel, but this does not mean that they are not trying to get armed through different means and to develop surface and subsurface combat methods. However, they know that our response to any attack will be very harsh," Netanyahu said.
A Zionist military analyst, Alon Ben David, told the Channel-10 news bulletin that so far the enemy entity does not possess new capabilities to detect the gates of the tunnels inside the occupied territories.
"We assess that Hamas has managed to dig several tunnels towards Israel. And iIn order to destroy those tunnels, the Israeli army has to start new campaign in the Gaza Strip regardless of the price it will cost," he said.
Zionist media outlets reported signs from the Gaza strip of the increased readiness of Palestinian resistance groups to engage in any potential confrontation with the occupation forces.
Correspondent of the Zionist Channel-2, Ohad Hifo, compared the previous and modern tactics of the Islamic Resistance Movement - Hamas in resisting the occupation, stressing that a new phase of confrontation between both sides is yet to come.
"Hamas was trying to hide the tunnels' digging by small containers, but recently, it is speaking about new phase of confrontation, which will be different from the previous one, and it [Hamas] will have exceptional achievements in the future battle," he said.
Noteworthy that the occupation killing machine launched the 'Operation Solid Rock' against the blockaded Gaza Strip in 2014 to eliminate the tunnels' threat.
Zionist mediums reported that the occupation army failed to achieve that goal, despite its claims that tens of tunnels have been destroyed.
