Israeli troops have penetrated early Sunday into Al-Khalil town in the West Bank, raided and searched houses, and abducted 120 citizens including Hamas supporters and members.

Israeli troops arrested tens of Palestinian citizens early Sunday in the West Bank, including a wide number of Hamas members and supporters, among them was Hamas MP Mohammad Abu Jheisha.

Palestinian sources reported that “tens of Israeli tanks executed a wide operation in which they penetrated into several neighborhoods in Al-Khalil, raided and searched houses and abducted residents,” and indicated that this operation was the widest since 10 years.

AFP quoted Hamas MP Samira Halaika as saying that “between 100 to 120 people were arrested in Al-Khalil.”

While another Hamas MP Mushir Al-Masri, said that this demonstrated Israel's criminal mentality towards the Palestinians.

 "All the occupation attempts to hit at Hamas are doomed to fail; experience has shown that it only makes Hamas stronger," AFP quoted Al-Masri as saying.
