Hezbollah issued on Wednesday a statement in which he condoled the Egyptians and all the Arab media people on the death of the major journalist Mohammad Hasanein Haikal.

The statement added that the close relation relations between the Resistance and Haikal which had kept for a long time would be preserved.

Haikal died on Wednesday after his medical conditions deteriorated during the few recent weeks.

The Egyptian journalist was born in 1923 and worked for major Arab media outlets, covering up prominent events including World War II.

Haikal articulated the thoughts of President Gamal Abdel Nasser earlier in his career and had prosperous relations with Hezbollah and several Arab leaders.
