In an interview with Al-Manar Website, AMAL Movement Official Nasser Nasrallah assured that kidnapping Imam Moussa Sadr was a turning point in Muammar Gaddafi’s life.

Lebanese former lawmaker and AMAL movement official Nasser Nasrallah said that the regime in Libya was no doubt falling, and highlighted that this was the natural outcome of any tyrannical and dictatorial regime.

In an exclusive interview with Al-Manar Website, Nasrallah said that the kidnapping of Imam Moussa Sadr and his two companions Sheikh Mohamad Yaaqoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine constituted the ‘turning point’ in Muammar Gaddafi’s life. He noted that Gaddafi has entered what he called a ‘maze of darkness’ since that time.

Nasrallah confirmed that efforts to reveal the truth will continue, and wished that Imam Sadr would be alive, as he noted that his eminence was a man for the entire nation, not only Lebanon.

TURNING POINT IN GADDAFI’S LIFE

Former MP Nasser Nasrallah told Al-Manar Website that the regime in Libya was no doubt collapsing. He noted that this ‘end’ was the natural outcome of any dictatorial regime. He said the best proof of the regime’s nature was Gaddafi’s kidnap of Imam Moussa Sadr and his two companions Sheikh Mohamad Yaaqoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine, which constituted the 'turning point' in Muammar Gaddafi’s life. He noted that Gaddafi has entered what he called a ‘maze of darkness’ since that time.

Nasrallah wished that the truth behind this great crime, and other crimes that Gaddafi committed against the Libyans would be uncovered very soon. Yet, he reassured that the process of overthrowing the regime was if high-price, pointing to the martyrs who fell during the revolution.

WE MUST UNITE TO FACE CONSPIRACY

While noting that the future would be hard for Libya and the Libyans, mainly in regard to the re-construction process, Nasrallah noted that the recent developments in Libya revealed how some leaders can’t see anything but their own interests. “It is true that freedom has been returned to the Libyan nation and that Libyans are happy for this result, but it is also true that they have paid a very high-price,” he clarified.

Answering a question on whether he was really satisfied with the revolution in Libya, even after Western countries began their intervention in it, Nasrallah pointed to an overlap at this level. “The West exploited the division between the authority and the people and resorted to the United Nations Security Council where resolutions were taken to allow them to destroy and shell without being held accountable,” he said. “Therefore, our nations must be alerted, as what’s taking place in the region is very dangerous,” he added.

Nasrallah stressed that the region was witnessing Zionist-American, Western meddling in everything at the highest levels whether in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, or Libya. “National and honorable people must unite to stand against such new imperialist attacks,” he said. “We should have enough consciousness to face this fierce conspiracy,” he added.

EFFORTS WILL CONTINUE

To conclude, former MP Nasser Nasrallah tackled the cause related to Imam Moussa Sadr and his two companions Sheikh Mohamad Yaaqoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine. He expressed his hope that new facts would be revealed at this level, and stressed that Imam Sadr was a man at the level of the entire region, not only Lebanon.

Answering a question on whether he was optimistic in this regard, Nasrallah said: “We must try.” He wish that Imam Sadr was still alive. He pointed to the letter sent by Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to the head of the Libyan rebels, and the National Transitional Council Chief Mustafa Abdul Jalil, in which he congratulated the revolutionists for their victory. He hoped this letter would be seriously handled, and said efforts will continue till the end.
