A source in the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Friday that talks between the Syrian government and the opposition factions are likely to be resumed in Switzerland’s Geneva on March 7.
"Preliminary, the resumption of intra-Syrian negotiations will be in Geneva on March 7," the source said.
The intra-Syrian negotiations, which began in Geneva in early February, were suspended over differences of the sides. The talks were expected to be resumed on February 25, but UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura warned that this was not realistic.
