The Lebanese General Security Monday announced the arrest of an ISIL member who beheaded a Lebanese soldier in 2014 on the outskirts of the country's northeastern border.

"The suspect who beheaded soldier Abbas Medlej is in General Security's custody," the directorate said via Twitter.

No further details were disclosed.

Martyr Medlej was the second Lebanese soldier to be beheaded by the terrorist group in September 2014, a month after it slaughtered soldier Ali Al-Sayyed.

The terrorist group said that Medlej was executed for trying to escape from captivity.
