An airborne regiment unit of the Lebanese army raided on Wednesday the hills localed behind Ras Baalbek barrens in the eastern region of Lebanon, Al-Manar TV correspondent reported.
The hills contain several posts of the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group.
The army unit managed to storm and destroy the posts, leaving a large number of terrorists killed or wounded.
Army helicopters took part in the operation as the Lebanese artillery was targeting positions close to ISIL deployment, the Kassarat [crushers] area in particular.
Al-Manar reporter stated that the clashes erupted at 03:00 am and lasted until 06:00 am. In the meantime, the Lebanese army check points are now targeting movements of the terrorist takfiris by appropriate weapons.
Moreover, sources told Al-Manar TV that a Lebanese soldiers was killed and several others were wounded during the engagement with terrorists.
