Syrian ISIL Recruit in Lebanon under Arrest

The Lebanese General Directorate of the General Security managed to arrest M.H., of Syrian nationality, over belonging to a terrorist organization.

Lebanon General SecurityThe Lebanese General Directorate of the General Security said on Friday it managed to arrest M.H., of Syrian nationality, over belonging to a terrorist organization.

"Within the framework of the follow-up activities of terrorist groups and sleeper cells affiliate, and after careful monitoring process, the General Directorate of General Security, based upon the recommendation of the competent prosecutor, arrested M.H. of Syrian nationality for belonging to a terrorist organization," a G.S. statement read.

As a result of interrogation, the man confessed to belonging to the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group. He is also active in the field of arms, ammunition, and military trade for the benefit of the organization.

Moreover, the arrested terrorist admitted that he was preparing to coordinate and communicate with three Syrian ISIL operatives: Y.R - aka Abu Sham, M.H. -aka Kasaa, F.Kh. - aka Abu Sakher -  Syrians (A.r) titled" Abu Sham, in order to move illegally to Syria.

Following the interrogation, the arrested terrorist was referred to the competent court.
