Head of the Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council Ali-Akbar Velayati said on Tuesday that since beginning of the revolution Iran and Syria have stood in a united front and their relations get stronger day by day with its effects being quite evident in the entire region.
Velayati told Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad, 'When seeing Syrian friends in Iran, we do not think they are guests; we consider you in a way that Iran is your second home.'
He noted that Russia's decision to join this group of the resistance marks a fundamental development in the region.
Velayati went on to say that enemies tried to remove Syria which is the backbone of the line of resistance both internationally and regionally but they failed to achieve their goal. "This shows that enemies are unhappy with the Syrian people's role in resisting the Zionists."
He noted that he was confident that the Syrian government and people will emerge triumphant against enemies through assistance of their allies in Iran and Syria, Iraq, Lebanese Hezbollah and some fair Arab states.
