A US military spokesman said Wednesday that the parial withdrawal of Russian troops from Syria declared by President Vladimir Putin three days ago is so far very limited.
"We have not seen a significant reduction of the combat abilities," Lt. Col. Steve Warren said in a video conference from Baghdad.
"The ability of combat on the ground is still intact, yet their air force ability has been reduced a little bit. And that's all," he added.
Warren noted that the US-led coalition against the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group is still confused about the real intentions of Russia.
"There is a long list of possibilities, but instead of studying them separately, we prefer to focus on the fight against ISIL," he said.
