“March of Return Committee” held an Iftar on Sunday, inviting the wounded and martyrs’ families of the ‘March of Return’. The occasion was attended by many official, religious and political personalities, along with representatives of Palestinian factions.
Secretary General of Labors’ Association, former MP Zaher Khatib, delivered a speech, in which he affirmed that Palestinian division only served the Zionist occupation, considering that Palestinian reconciliation is a national need, and calling upon Palestinian leaderships to be aware of the this critical stage and to work on enforcing unity.
Secretary of PLO in Lebanon, Fathi Abo-Ardat, delivered the speech of ‘March of Return’, in which he stressed that liberating Al-Quds and putting an end to occupation and settlement are the key elements in shaping the future of the region.
“Current aggression on Gaza requires from us to organize our national priorities, starting from enforcing reconciliation, ending the division and activating the popular resistance,” Abo Ardat said.
Ceremonies also included a speech on the behalf of the wounded and the martyrs’ families.
At the end of the Iftar ceremony, honorary shields were distributed to the wounded of “March of Return” of Maroun al-Ras in May 15, 2011.
