Head of Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, stressed that "Lebanon, who impressed the world resisting and defeating the Israeli killing machine in 2006, cannot abandon his Resistance as long as Israel occupies our land, and can neither give up the role of Resistance, nor would accept any threat against his maritime boundaries."
During a speech he delivered on Tuesday, Berri pointed out that "national dialogue to restore good Saudi-Iranian relations is the main way out of the political deadlock in the country," noting that constitutional solutions can be found for the crisis in Lebanon once a head of state is elected.
Touching upon the Syrian issue, Berri hailed the cease-fire recently agreed on, and called for solving the crisis through a political solution.
"Persistent war on terror in Syria requires joint international effort and operation room to dry up the sources of terrorism and stop insurgents crossing the border," he said.
