Palestinian official in Fatah movement was killed on Tuesday in a car bomb attack in the southern city of Sidon.
Security sources said that Fathi Zaidan was killed as a car bomb went off in the American roundabout near Ain al-Hilweh camp for Palestinian refugees.
Zaidan is Fatah official in Myeh Myeh camp, another camp for Palestinian refugees near Ain al-Hilweh.
Lebanese security forces cordoned off the area, urging the citizens to keep away from the blast scene in a bid to evacuate the injured people.
In recent years, tensions have risen between Fatah movement and the Jund al-Sham extremist group, especially in the Ain al-Hilweh camp.
The rival factions in Ain al-Hilweh have clashed several times in the past year, with each side accusing each other of assassination attempts.
Ain al-Hilweh has become the scene of score-settling between several factions, and a breeding ground for extremist groups that have flourished on the back of the poverty afflicting the camp.
