In a meeting with the visiting Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the problem with visits to Iran by European delegations is the fact that their results are not tangible and practical, he added.
Stressing that Iran welcomes expansion of all-out ties with Italy particularly in the field of economy, his eminence noted that Italy's behavior towards Iran was much more logical than other western states during the sanctions era.
The Leader called for implementation of deals signed between Iran and European states, adding that visits by some European countries and companies to Iran have not produced tangible results.
Some Iran partners are accusing US of causing troubles for the execution of cooperation agreements with Iran. This idea is acceptable because they are not bound to their own obligations enshrined in the nuclear deal, he added.
Referring to President Sheikh Hassan Rouhani's visit to Italy, he said Iran has an optimistic view of Rome but it does not have the same view towards other European countries which follow what US dictates to them.
Calling fight against terrorism one of the topics for cooperation between Tehran and Rome, the Leader said some European states supported certain violent terrorist groups for years and as a result a wave of terrorism has reached Europe today.
"US financial and arms support for terrorist groups is one of the obstacles that hinders defeating terrorism, and there is well-founded documents which prove the idea that they are supporting Daesh even after they formed the anti-Daesh coalition," his eminence added in reference to the so-called 'Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant' (ISIL) takfiri group .
The Leader endorsed Italian prime minister's remark on fighting terrorism in cultural ways, adding that political plots behind the scene have caused trouble for cultural campaign against terrorism.
"Giant propaganda machines of the world which are governed by western politicians are provoking Islamophobia in the world under the pretext of some terrorists actions by gangs who introduce themselves as Muslim," Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.
