Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday received a congratulatory cable from Russian President Vladimir Putin on occasion of Evacuation Day, Syria’s National Day, SANA reported.

In the cable, President Putin affirmed his country’s determination to continue providing active assistance for the Syrian government in its battle against terrorist organizations, asserting that Russia will continue to support the Syrian state’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and safety, in addition to supporting the political solution for the crisis in Syria via comprehensive national dialogue.

Putin voiced confidence that continuing to develop Russian-Syrian friendly relations meets the essential interests of the two countries’ peoples, wishing President al-Assad health and success, and wishing the Syrian people the return of safe and prosperous life very soon.
