House Speaker, Nabih Berri, said that the parliamentary council "has the right to legislate at any circumstance," indicating, "I will not call for a parliamentary session before the joint committees finish up its work relevant to elections law. This stance is not a retreat from my convictions but a respect to you and keenness on Lebanon."

Berri's stance came Monday in the context of a press conference.

He considered the elections law to be in need of consensus mush as the country. "I am still adhering to my beliefs that legislation can find effect in all circumstances." He said it was not Nabih Berri whom people should feel superior to whilst talking of national partnership.

He reassured that the municipal elections would take place and that said election was in its best condition.
