“In Economy of Resistance, security is one of the pillars of Plan and Implementation,” Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said here Sunday.

The Supreme Leader made the remarks in a meeting today with police commanders and high ranking officers.

“If poverty does not exist in a society and security does not either, life will turn sour,” said the leader, adding that 'if a country does not enjoy security, affairs such as education, business and diplomacy cannot be managed.'

On the issue of traffic fatalities, the Supreme Leader said statistics show decrease in accidents but the figures are still high and more security should be provided.

Ayatollah Khamenei, in his Norouz message on March 20, named new Iranian calendar year as the year of 'Economy of Resistance; Plan and Implementation.'
