In the statement, Russia and the US stated that they will take steps to pinpoint the areas under the control of ISIL and al-Nusra Front (Qaeda branch in the Levant) terrorist organizations in Syria.

The two sides affirmed their support for the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria and for bolstering the efforts to reach a political solution via the UN-sponsored Geneva talks.

The statement said that Moscow and Washington confirm that progress has been made in consolidating the cessation of hostilities agreement and in delivering humanitarian aid, adding that the two sides’ efforts in this regard have resulted in lowering the scale of violence drastically in northern Lattakia and the Eastern Ghouta in Damascus Countryside.
