The head of Yemen’s national delegation to peace talks in Kuwait, Mohammad Abdul Salam stressed that the withdrawal of the Riyadh-backed delegation proves its failure as well its lack of convincing demonstration.

In an interview with UNews news agency, Abdul Salam said the move indicates that the Riyadh-backed delegation wants the continuation of war and that they are turning a blind eye on the Yemenis sufferings.

"During yesterday's session, the UN envoy (Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed) put four points for discussion: military guarantees-military committee, political guarantees-consensual authority, local guarantees and international guarantees," Abdul Salam, who is also the spokesman of Ansarullah revolutionary movement.

"We have discussed the military guarantees and forming a military committee.

However the other side demanded that (fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour) Hadi should head this committee, something which we have refused because he is part of the conflict."

The national delegation to Kuwait talks includes Ansarullah and the General People's Congress party (GPC).

Abdul Salam said the National delegation then urged discussing the political guarantees in order to talk about an inclusive political settlement and a clear transitional period. However the Riyadh-backed delegation refused to continue discussion.

Meanwhile, he dismissed as baseless accusations by the other side that the National delegation was hindering the talks.

Yemen has been since March 26, 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition.

Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to fugitive Hadi who is a close ally to Saudi Arabia.
