13 towns were liberated since the start of the military operation in Eastern Ghouta, Syrian sources reported.
The area of the liberated towns is estimated at least 40 square kilometer, the sources said, adding that terrorists of Nusra Fronts and Ahrar Sham fled the liberated towns.
The liberated towns liberated are: Bayyad Shebaa, Zibdin, Harasta al-Qanatara, Bzina, Deir al-Assafir, Ard al-Nhasiyah, Housh al-Homsi, al-Rukabiyah, Ard al-Shartout, Ard al-Kassar, al-Adodiyah, Nawlah, old Bala.
The sources added that by this move, the Syrian army has boosted security around Damascus International airport and al-Sayyedah Zeinab shrine.
Earlier on Thursday, Syrian army backed by popular defense groups launched a large-scale campaign to eradicate the terrorists in eastern Gouta.
