Hmeimim said in a statement that it had spotted the convoy as moving freely in areas under the control of terrorist groups and reached an area where ISIL insurgents were positioned, SANA news agency reported.

Hmeimim added that ISIL and Nusra Front terror organizations were still targeting military positions and residential areas in Aleppo city despite the advent of the month of Ramadan, adding that these terrorists were also still rallying their forces in the surroundings of Aleppo.

The center said that terrorists targeted areas in Aleppo with mortars, rockets, and artillery from the direction of Kafr Hamra town, adding that the number of civilian casualties was in constant increase.

The center also said that the town of Handarat, the surroundings of al-Nairab Airport, and the neighborhoods of al-Muhafaza, al-Midan, al-Sheikh Maqsoud, and al-Zahra’a in Aleppo city suffered intensive shelling with mortar and rockets during the past 24 hours.
