Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) forces have destroyed an 11-member gang of terrorists tied to an anti-Iran Kurdish terror outfit, Fars News agency reported on Tuesday.

"A group of 11 counter-revolutionaries linked to the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), who were attempting to infiltrate the country were immediately detected," Fars quoted General Mohammad Hossein Rajabi, commander of the IRGC in Kurdistan province, as saying. IRGC

"The [IRGC] forces blocked the entry points and, subjugating the team to their will, led them toward the spot we desired," the official said.

"After ten days of following them, we led them to the Kouhsalan area of [the province’s] city of Sarvabad, where our forces annihilated all the 11 members," Rajabi said, according to the Iranian agency.

He added that three members of the Revolutionary Guards were also martyred.
The attack followed reports on Sunday that five insurgents had been killed in the region.

Earlier on Sunday, the commander of the Revolutionary Guards' ground forces, General Mohammad Pakpour, threatened to launch cross-border attacks against terrorists bases in northern Iraq.

"Since the main bases of these terrorists are in northern Iraq, if they don't follow through with commitments to stop these attacks, their bases will be targeted where they are," he said.
