Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Ayatollah Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday appointed Major General Mohammad-Hussein Baqeri as the new chief of staff of armed forces.

Baqeri replaces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi who was appointed as an advisor to the commander in chief of armed forces.

Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated genuine efforts made by Major General Hassan Firouzabadi during his term in office.
