National News Correspondent to Rafik Hariri International Airport reported on Monday that French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault arrived in Beirut aboard his private jet.
Ayrault was welcomed by Ambassador of France, Emmanuel Bonne, Nadim Sorati from Protocol Directorate at the Foreign and Expatriates Ministry, members from the French embassy and a unit from the French contingent operating within the UNIFIL.
Our correspondent added that Ayrault headed directly to Naqoura aboard a UNIFIL chopper, to check on the French contingent. He would then return to Beirut and head to the Pine Palace in order to launch his official meetings starting Tuesday.
Ayrault is scheduled to hold a joint press conference with his Lebanese counterpart, Gibran Bassil, tomorrow evening at Boustros Palace to discuss the result of his visit.
