Washington is committed to make further advances on the measures to settle the Syria crisis agreed by US State Secretary John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, US State Department spokesman John Kirby told Sputnik Friday.
Commenting on the planned US-Russia-UN meeting in Geneva, Kirby added that humanitarian issue in the region will be addressed as well.
"We are committed to moving forward on the steps agreed to by Secretary Kerry and Foreign Minister Lavrov in their meeting last week," Kirby said.
The United States and Russia routinely discuss means of strengthening the ceasefire in Syria, efforts to improve humanitarian situation in the country and find a political solution to the crisis, he added.
Kerry met with Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov and President Vladimir Putin last week in the Russian capital, where they discussed concrete steps to restore the ceasefire and possible US-Russian military cooperation against terrorist groups in Syria.
